Campaign design for political candidate
Senior thesis at the University of Minnesota

Design Statement

This brand identity was created to demonstrate the gender bias that occurs in the world of politics. The attitude that voters have towards gender has a strong impact on the gender distribution of candidates and elected politicians. Unequal treatment for women and men is a fact of modern life, and discussing this topic openly can help to deconstruct gender stereotypes and prevent bias. By voting on the gender of the candidate, we can establish if the visual identity is successful in remaining neutral. Based on the visual branding alone, what do you think the gender of the candidate is?
